This neo-Classical building is preceded by a Doric colonnade with 32 columns. Built in 1819 as the headquarters for the British High Commissioner, it became a royal residence for the Greek monarch in 1864. The palace now houses the Tourist Office and an interesting Museum of Asiatic Art containing 10 000 collection pieces: funerary urns and Chinese bronzes, incense flasks, rare lacquerware, ceramics and engravings, Japanese screens and beautiful 17C and 18C icons from the Creto-Venetian school.
