This old quarter of the Macedonian city of Véria has around sixty churches (12C-15C). Ágios Hristos, the church of the Resurrection, is decorated with frescoes by Giorgos Kaliergis (early 14C); Saint Savvas of Kiriotissa has a decorative ceramic exterior typical of the 14C; BSaints Kirikos and Ioulitisa and Ágios Vlassios have frescoes dating from the 14C to the 18C.
