This gently sweeping cove was in Antiquity a huge harbour for warships. Today, Zea and its anchorage can accommodate around 400 pleasure craft. On its quaysides are restaurants and tavernas offering fish dishes. Don’t miss the archaeological museum which among its treasures has four statues not taken away by the Roman general Sulla: the Piraeus Apollo (c 525 BC), the Piraeus Athena (c 340 BC) and two statues of Artemis with her quiver.
