On approaching Grand-Bourg from Capesterre, the beach appears, its long strip of sand bordered by coconuts and other trees. To the left, on the section of beach called troisième pont (third bridge), don’t miss the Éloi Chassela agro-marine museum. The eponymous founder waxes inexhaustibly on Marie-Galante and its history, and offer visitors fruit drinks plus a sarsaparilla liqueur, which he claims cures coughs.
