Morne-à-l'Eau : Michelin's recommendations

This important town at the crossroads of the Le Moule, Les Abymes and Anse-Bertrand roads has a large market that takes place daily on Route du Stade. Morne-à-l’Eau’s principal curiosity is its cemetery, sited above the entrance to the town. This city of the dead with its lines of tombs symbolises a kind of transcendence of the burial practices of the slavery period, when slaves were usually interred at the periphery of graveyards exclusive to whites.
