The park recalls the first settlers of Guadeloupe, the Caribs and Arawak (essentially the same people) who arrived long before the Europeans. The culture of that period remains little known; archaeological remains have proven difficult to interpret. Amidst luxuriant vegetation, the 1ha park is the site of rocks bearing carvings depicting human and animal forms. Dated to the 4C, they are the work of Arawak Indians.
