The resplendent sights of Pest are best discovered by foot. Absorb panoramic views from high up in St Stephen's Basilica, and visit the Opera House.
The first stop is St Stephen's Basilica where you will wonder at intricate architecture, grand alters, and cavernous domes before climbing up to the cupola. The reward is worth it–a panorama stretching over the city rooftops. Back on ground; enjoy a tour of the elaborate State Opera House, constructed in 1884. A walk along Broadway leads you past the old Nazi headquarters–the House of Terror–as well as the Széchenyi Bath and Vajdahunyad Castle.
