Bibendum
It is the most exotic of Budapest's numerous public baths. You will find two mixed swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) and the baths themselves with separate ones for women and men. The indoor swimming pool or carbon dioxide gas bath is famous for its style dating back to 1900. It was built on the site of the hotel's greenhouse in 1934. Under a large metal and glass dome, the rectangular pool is framed by cabled columns decorated with floral motifs. These columns support a mezzanine-gallery, decorated with green plants and pillars covered with Zsolnay ceramic tiles. The outdoor pool is noted for its artificial waves and its sunbathing area. The thermal baths lined with magnificent blue mosaics are really worth visiting. You do not need a swimming costume and will be given an apron to tie around your waist so that you can then enjoy the sauna, steam bath or a dip in the pools where the temperature of the water varies from one pool to another. In the end, you will only be able to stretch out and rest for a few moments and get used to the room temperature again. There is no doubt about one thing: the baths and the Geller Hotelt are the most prestigious thermal and hotel complex in the Hungarian capital!
