This literary museum which bears the name of the famous poet Sándor Petõfi (statue on the staircase), occupies the former palace of the counts of Károlyi. The name of the street, Mihály Károlyi, is that of the first President of the Republic (1919). The building, in the classical style, attributed to András Mayerhoffer, has been refrurbished.
