Debrecen : Michelin's recommendations

Debrecen is the economic centre of the North Great Plain region east of the Tisza river, close to the Hortobágy National Park. A Protestant and Reformation city with the nickname “Calvinist Rome”, it is described as the Civis or “citizen” city. Visit the Nagytemplom, the largest Protestant church in Hungary, and the Reformed College, a beautiful Classical building. The Déri Múzeum (Far East, Antiquity, Archaeology and Ethnography collections) has exhibits relating to daily life in Debrecen.
