The immense Reformed church of Debrecen is the largest Protestant sanctuary in Hungary. Its vast proportions make it possible to welcome nearly 3,000 worshippers. As you visit the church, look out for one of the church's relics, the chair of Lajos Kossuth (1802-1894), a politician who fought for Hungary's independence. If you are lucky, you may be treated to the sound of the great organ often used for rehearsals.
