The restoration of this palace, built during the reign of Béla III, has revealed some interesting architectural features, among which is a 12C vaulted room, considered to be the oldest dwelling place in Hungary. Also worth looking out for are the double chamber, also known as the chamber of virtues (15C), decorated with frescoes and a vault adorned with signs of the zodiac. The royal chapel, early Gothic in style, boasts superbly carved capitals.
