Hollóko
: Michelin's recommendations
This village in the heart of the Cserhát mountains is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hollóko is not a skanzen, a “museum” village. In spite of being partially destroyed by three fires, in 1874, 1886 and 1896, it has preserved its authenticity and was rebuilt exactly as before by its inhabitants: thick walls on stone bases, timber frames, decorative gables, covered verandas outside and picket fences. The interior decoration is from yesteryear: hand-painted furniture, embroidered accessories etc.
