This square forms an interesting architectural ensemble. The early-15C church of St James is graced by frescoes depicting an immense St Christopher carrying Christ, Mary and the Magi. The Baroque church of St Emeric features a Dorffmeister fresco and a Maulbertsch altarpiece portraying Mary visiting Elizabeth. The General’s house, medieval in origin, is adorned with a twin-arched loggia added in the 17C, and contains an interesting craftwork museum.
