On the elegant, beautifully laid out square, stands a statue of Lajos Kossuth, the hero of the Hungarian fight for independence. Kossuth gave his last speech here before going into exile. On a completely different note, the famous Virag pastry shop has two establishments on the square. The largest has the atmosphere of a 19C Central European café.
