The beautiful yellow Baroque building is flanked by a watchtower whose bells ring out every 15 minutes. In summer, chamber music concerts are held in the pleasant inner courtyard. The Mayor's office is in a building next to the town hall known as the Bérház, built before the flood. The two buildings are linked by a closed passage dating from 1883 called the Bridge of Sighs, an allusion to the world-famous original in Venice.
