Phalodi : Michelin's recommendations

The small town of Phalodi is worth a detour to visit its 18C havelis. Located between the fort and the market, their attractive red-brick façades are embellished with Iali, a type of ornamental screen, behind which women could discreetly watch the activity on the street below. One of them, Dadha's haveli, has been converted into a museum displaying a collection of bronze statuettes, silver and ivory curios, Jain and Hindu manuscripts etc.
