Pilgrims come to carry out their ablutions on the lakeshore at Pushkar, the holy city of Rajasthan, which is home to more than 400 temples. From early in the morning, they crowd on to the ghat (flights of steps) which run along the shores, particularly during the October/November full moon. Avoid disturbing these rituals and keep your distance from the priests who can be persistent in their requests for offerings.
