The waters of Pichola Lake lap against the whitewashed houses of the old town. As you explore the narrow alleyways of the town, don’t miss the former palace of the Maharaja of Bagore (Bagore ki Haveli), which now houses a museum, or the 17C Jagdish temple, with its beautiful filigree-style marble work. It’s also worth taking some time to stroll through Udaipur’s bazaars and markets: tea-drinkers will particularly enjoy the Vegetable Market, while lovers of fabric and jewellery should opt for the Bara Bazaar.
