Amed Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

On this dry section of the coast one can see nothing but sea for miles around. Early in the morning, jukungs, traditional boats with multicoloured sails, return from the sea and line up along the beach. Amed is actually a cluster of fishing villages rather than one single village. The sunrises are magical here and the coral reefs are renowned amongst divers. Continuing south from here you pass by saltworks and other fishing villages, set against the backdrop of Seraya Volcano (1 175m).
