Bali’s sole national park covers the whole of the west of the island, some 190km2 centred on a mountainous region. It comprises multiple natural habitats: mangroves at its western end, tropical forest to the south of the mountains, and to their north a drier savannah-like area (deciduous species). Explore the park on foot (with a guide) or by boat (for the mangrove swamps – and for bird watching), perhaps twinned with a diving expedition in the Pulau Menjangan Marine Park.
