Bumi Siliwangi (Villa Isola) Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Bibendum
A sublime Art Deco villa designed by the Dutchman Schoemaker for the media magnate DW Berretty (1932-1933). With a nod to the circular towers of Javanese temples, the Villa Isola, a tall building surrounded by gardens, was constructed using the circle as its architectural principle. It was completed in just six months, but its owner occupied it only briefly, as he was killed in a plane crash in 1934. The building then became a hotel for a while, before serving as a base for the Japanese army in 1942, and ultimately being taken over by the university under the new name of Bumi Siliwangi.
