An interesting jumble of Javanese gamelans (14C), Egyptian chests inlaid with mother-of-pearl, Javanese weaponry and 16C Portuguese chain mail. On display in an adjoining room is the Kereta Singa Barong (1549), an incredible red and gold royal carriage in the form of a winged dragon with an elephant's trunk. Its hybrid morphology reveals the influence of the Chinese in the dragon, of the Egyptians in the wings, and of the Hindus in the trunk.
