A tourist hotspot of the Pangandaran region, the Green Canyon (35km) owes its name to the colour of the little river that formed it. It gets its green colour from the volcanic alluvium in its waters (which turn brown when it rains). After sailing upriver for 30min, the river narrows and the current speeds up as it surges into a stunning gorge, where deliciously refreshing little waterfalls stream down from above like a curtain of rain.
