The dense jungle of Taman Nasional Pangandaran that covers the tip of the peninsula offers the chance to see macaques, kijang deer, hornbills, gibbons and maybe even the spectacular rafflesia patura, a giant flower. A recreational area has been added, with a paved walkway dotted with a few caves and pretty beaches. For more athletic types, there is a clear path running along the edge of the forest. A boat tour around the isthmus leads you to a hidden white sand beach and a waterfall.
