The various temples are spread about the huge quadrilateral divided into three concentric courtyards. In the centre stands the most sacred, domain of the main temples, dedicated to the Trimurti Trinity: around Candi Siva, the highest and holiest, stand Candi Brahma (to the south) and Candi Visnu (to the north). Each one has a secondary temple opposite, known as vahana, or vehicle, temples, which housed the divinity's mount. There are also two Candi Apit, or annexe temples, the function of which remains unclear.
