The town hall from colonial times, a neo-Classical building (1707), also housed a handful of prison cells and a courthouse. It has now been converted into this musem, where you can take in the architecture and austere Protestant furniture, as well as the collections: ancient cards, paintings, ceramics and archaeological finds. In the courtyard, look out for the remarkable 17C Portugese cannon, Si Jagur; the hand at the end is making a sexual-looking gesture that can be interpreted here as a sign of fertility.
