With only 300 inhabitants, the little island of Gili Meno attracts those in quest of solitude: the east coast with its fine large beach has most of the settlement, while the snorkelling spots lie to the south and northeast. The island, at the centre of which is a saline lake, also has a bird park (Taman Burung) and a marine turtle preservation centre.
