When to go

The climate is hot and humid. It is preferable to go during the dry season from May to June or September to October, when there are fewer tourists, however a trip to Indonesia will be pleasant all year round.

Time difference

There are three standard time zones in the Indonesian archipelago. There is a one-hour difference between the westernmost islands, the central islands and the easternmost islands. In summertime, Java is GMT+6 and Bali is GMT+7, respectively GMT+7 and GMT+8 in winter.


Valid passport (at least 6 months after the date of return) and a return ticket.

A 30-day visa is issued on arriving in the country. Enquire at the Indonesian embassy before leaving for a 60-day visa.
