Pogue's Entry
Pogue's Entry : Michelin's recommendations
Standing in a narrow street is a simple hut, the birthplace of Alexander Irvine (1863-1941), who became a missionary in the Bowery district of New York. The room giving onto the street served as a kitchen, living room and shoemaker's shop for his father; the bedroom was at the back of the house and the children slept in the attic. His book, My Lady of the Chimney Corner, relates his mother's struggle against poverty.
