Planetarium : Michelin's recommendations
The planetarium, with its 15 m diameter dome, was set up in 1968 by Dr Lindsay, the Observatory Director (1937-1974), who invited the English astronomer, Patrick Moore, to be the first director of the new establishment. The actual Observatory was founded and presented to the city by Archbishop Robinson in 1789. It is one of the oldest meteorological stations in the British Isles.
