Ballydehob : Michelin's recommendations

This colourful market town stretches along a steep road nestled in Roaring Water Bay, which is dotted with islets. Many artists and writers have come here in search of refuge, and indeed to the region as a whole, which is home to a large number of foreigners wanting to get back in touch with nature. The old railway bridge with 12 stone arches is closed to trains but accessible to pedestrians. Note the muscular statue of local hero, the boxer Danno O'Maghony, world champion in 1935-1936.
