Ballyjamesduff : Michelin's recommendations

This town was named after an English officer who took part in the 1798 rebellion. The town is clustered around a covered market (1813) at the crossroads of five main roads. In the 18C, well placed on the main coach route between Cavan and Kells , the town was also host to a weekly market and nine yearly fairs, of which the most important was for livestock.
