Cave Hill is a black 360m-high cliff riddled with caves that mark the southern end of the Antrim plateau. The headland is the site of an earthwork known as McArts Fort. It served as a watchtower against Vikings and Anglo-Normans and affords a fine view of Belfast, County Down, Strangford Lough, Lough Neagh, the Sperrin Mountains and Scotland.
