Pottery
: Michelin's recommendations
This pottery became famous for its richly decorated parians (porcelain imitating Paros marble). It was created in 1857 by John Caldwell Bloomfield, a mineralogist who noticed that the estate contained all the elements required for manufacturing porcelain: feldspath, kaolin, silex, clay, shale, peat and hydraulic power. Belleek obtained its first gold medal in Dublin in 1865.
