Carlingford : Michelin's recommendations
Monuments left by the Vikings and the Normans add to the charm of this attractive resort located at the foot of the Cooley Mountains and facing the Mourne Mountains on the other side of Lake Carlingford (with a marina offering cruises on the lake). Opposite the port stands Taaffe's Castle, a square tower dating from the late 15C. On the south side of the village square stands a 15C stronghouse with door and window mouldings decorated with Celtic designs.
