Clogher : Michelin's recommendations
Clogher's name probably originates from the Irish name Clogh-Oir, or Golden Stone, a famous oracle from pagan times, now exhibited in the cathedral porch. Clogher claims to be Ireland's oldest cathedral town (5C). According to legend, the first bishop, whose name the cathedral bears, was St Macartan or Macartin, one of St Patrick's disciples.
