This Catholic cathedral overlooking the city was built between 1868 and 1915 in a neo-Gothic style on designs by Pugin and Ashlin. Its tall spire, with its peel of 47 bells can be seen for miles around. The interior is decorated with polished marble columns, mosaic flooring and a highly elaborate marble reredos.
