This Anglican cathedral was designed by William Burges and built of limestone in exuberant French Gothic style in 1865. It has three spires with the central one rising up to 73 m. The apse is illuminated by 18 stained-glass windows. A cannonball hanging on the south of the altar is said to have been fired at the previous church's tower during the siege of 1690.
