Crosshaven : Michelin's recommendations

This popular little resort, situated at the point where the river Owenabue widens to form the Cork anchorage, is a paradise for yachtsmen and has been home to the Cork yacht club since 1969. At Crosshaven, there is a thriving boat-building industry, boasting the Brendan and the Gypsy Moth V, on which Sir Francis Chichester sailed round the world in 1971, among its constructions. Fort Meagher, a fine example of a coastal artillery fort, commands the approach from the sea.

  • Cronin's Traditional pubs serving food

    IRL - Crosshaven

Classic Irish pub in the same family since 1970 and now run by the 3rd generation. Interesting artefacts and boxing memorabilia. Unfussy seafood dishes feature local produce. Limited opening in restaurant, which offers more ambitious fare.
