Once the property of the Burgess family, Parkanaur is an estate planted with many rare plants. The walks lead through a Victorian French garden, to the stone arch and bridge, wash house and dam on the Torrent. The farm buildings (1843) house an exhibition of forest machines. The herd of white fallow deer at Parkanaur are direct descendants of a couple offered by Elizabeth I in 1595 to her daughter-in-law.
