This austere neo-Classical house, surrounded by woods, was designed by Francis Goodwin in 1830. It dominates the north bank of Sligo Bay. Today it is still the residence of the Gore-Booth family, who settled in the district during the reign of Elizabeth I. The oval gallery, which is decorated with paintings collected during a grand tour of Europe, was designed as a music room. Visitors are invited to test the excellent acoustics with the grand piano.
