Head into the lovely Wicklow Mountains by train to visit Ireland's most famous village, Avoca (otherwise known as Ballykissangel) and see the magnificent Glendalough (valley of the two lakes).
Itinerary:
11:15 AM:Check in at Dublin's Connolly Station (gate for platform 4) for the train to Arklow. Keep your eyes peeled as the train traverses Ireland's southern coast before heading inland to the mountains to experience the "Garden of Ireland" (as county Wicklow is known).On arrival at Arklow, travel by bus through the Vale of Avoca, taking in the lovely village of Avoca, or Ballykissangel, where you can see Avoca hand weavers at work. Make time for a delicious pint at Fitzgeralds Bar before heading on to the ancient monastic settlement at stunning Glendalough. Return trip is by train, reaching Dublin at 6:30 PM.
