The Anna Livia Fountain, a female personification of the Liffey, nicknamed «The Floozie in the Jacuzzi», was erected in 1988 to celebrate the city's millennium. It replaced Nelson's Pillar (1808), which was damaged by a bomb in 1966 and demolished.
