James Joyce Museum
James Joyce Museum : Michelin's recommendations
Built in 1804, Martello Tower is located at the tip of Sandycove. Today, it houses a museum dedicated to this famous writer. On display are first editions of his works, letters, his death mask and some of his personal belongings. Joyce stayed here for six days in 1904, invited by the poet Oliver Gogarty, who had rented the tower from the government. Upstairs, the room where Joyce set the breakfast scene of Ulysses is laid out as in the novel.
