The last town before Rosses Point, this busy market town is located on the threshold of an unusual landscape of low stony hills, encircled by beaches and dunes, and dotted with hundreds of little lakes with dark waters. From time to time, the reddish moor is interspersed with conifer plantations that add an even more Nordic feel to this desolate nature, so beautiful in the late-autumn light.
