This monastery was founded by St Tola in the 8C. The Archaeology Centre and a little museum dedicated to prehistory and local culture are located in a 15C fortified dwelling. Fine view from the top over the nearby ruins and countryside. In a field nearby stands the White Cross of Tola (late 12C); its high-relief carvings depict the Crucifixion and a bishop (eastern side). The site also has the base of a round tower and remains of an 11C church (the portal is a reconstruction).
