Situated by a lake on a gentle slope dotted with great beech and oak trees, this magnificent neo-Classical residence is probably the most beautiful in Ireland. It was designed by James Wyatt and completed in 1798 for the Corry family, counts of Belmore. They lived here until 1951 when the estate was acquired by the National Trust. Built and furnished with no regard for expense, it has been completely restored to its former splendour. Don't miss the library nor the Oval Saloon with its refined plasterwork.
