: Michelin's recommendations
This small town still contains several relics of the Anglo-Norman settlement and most sections of the late-14C town-walls remain intact. In the town centre, the castle is one of three keeps dating from the 15C. The church with its late-15C crenellated tower includes sections that are older. The ruins of a 12C Augustinian priory include many 16C and 17C tombs. The old railway station is now a museum, full of items of rural and domestic life in Ireland from centuries past.
