Glandore Travel guide
Glandore : Michelin's recommendations
The original Irish name for this little village, Cuan Dor, meaning «harbour of the oaks», was a reminder of three centuries ago when vast woods covered most of the west of the county. Two tiny islands situated in the estuary, known as Adam and Eve face the semi-circular harbour; old navigation instructions advised sailors to «avoid Adam and hug Eve». The hill (274m) offers pleasant walks.
